The lab provides a platform for students to serve their classmates and help grow relationships and community within Gies College of Business.

Activities housed inside the Undergraduate Success Lab include:

  • Initial access point for student questions regarding a financial crisis, mental or physical health concerns, housing issues, and more
  • Peer advising and advising workshops
  • Peer tutoring and exam workshops
  • Study abroad information sessions and course planning
  • Success guides for time management, study skills, goal planning, and more

Academic Success Programs

Gies Academic Success Programs are directed at all undergraduate populations that would benefit from additional academic support. These programs aim to provide opportunities, comprehensive programs, and services that engage students early in each semester to encourage a successfully completion of each semester. Through workshops, early intervention, personal counseling and mentoring opportunities, specialized courses, and collaborative partnerships within Gies and across campus, students will receive a personalized support system that will nurture their academic experience.

Gies Academic Success Programs aim to establish meaningful engagements, provide comprehensive resources, and foster successful relationships with our students. Programs in this space include:

  • Early Intervention Course Outreach
  • Freshmen Mid-semester Outreach
  • Academic Preparedness Resources
  • College and Campus Tutoring Referral Resources
  • Re-entry Support
  • Civil Discourse Class

Gies Summer Success Program

Gies Summer Success Program allows students who had limited opportunities to earn course credit in high school, to lessen the gap between themselves and those students whose high school offerings and resources allowed them to earn college credit by completing AP courses and exams, Dual Credit, or completing IB courses and exams. The goal is to allow students who lacked opportunity to kick off their collegiate career and work towards a successful experience while at Gies.

More information will be available in early 2023.
